Down Stage Pass offers a broad range of marketing, production, and consultation services at nominal fees to artists and arts organizations within New York City.
Our goal is to grow and sustain a network for underrepresented artistic communities by providing greater access for artists to promote their work and connect with their audiences.
Reaching across multiple artistic disciplines, Down Stage Pass predominantly advocates works that feature artists of African descent, including: theatre, music, dance, literature, visual, media, and aesthetic art forms such as fashion and culinary arts.
Down Stage Pass is a program under the nonprofit umbrella of RSquareNY, a 501(c)(3) formed to stimulate interest in and dialogue about contemporary issues in society as expressed in works of art in a variety of media.
Primarily supported by financial and in-kind donations, Down Stage Pass provides a broad range of services to artists that are free, low cost, or based on a sliding scale. As of May 2104, Down Stage Pass has been in soft launch providing multiple services, including website design and hosting, press and marketing material design and distribution, ticketing services, event listings, printed and online ad space, and performance/show reviews.

The Down Stage Pass logo is inspired by the West African adinkra symbol Ananse Ntontan, named after the “trickster god” and folk tale character Anansi the Spider. This symbol represents a spider’s web and evokes creativity and connectivity.
We like to think of Down Stage Pass as “CONNECTING CREATIVITY!”
